It’s time for American comedian and actor, Bill Burr, to tackle the famous Deflategate scandal that the New England Patriots faced. The saga eventually became a hot topic of discussion over the years involving the legendary quarterback, Tom Brady. Now it’s time for Burr to shed light on the controversial incident, that shook the NFL.

His latest discussion at the Pat McAfee Show prompted skepticism about the league’s motives, taking the NFL community back to the past. The outspoken comedian recently appeared in the show hosted by the sports analyst, Pat McAfee. Burr wasted no time in dismantling the foundation on which the Defaltegate scandal was based.

Labeling the study to be ‘stupid’, he further carried on with his review of the analysis. Burr gave a run down on how things were taken to the court, “Why why do you guys all act like that suspension wasn’t reversed when they took it to court and they just laughed? The judge actually got upset saying there’s no case here stop wasting my time.” 

When the court declared there was no legitimate case to pursue, according to Bill that came as a challenge for the NFL to reverse the decision. In his opinion, the NFL took the charge into their hand as he stated, “But then the NFL got panicked because they lost to a player and they’re like well we got to suspend this guy, or every time we suspend somebody we’re gonna have to pay for a lawsuit. You know the NFL they’re all about the money”.

Hinting at Brady, the claim brought about by Burr resulted in a throwback to Brady’s legacy as an aftermath of the scandal and a look at the journey of the Patriots post this incident.

Brady was made accountable for the fallout  

Back on January 18, 2015, the Patriots’ road to the Super Bowl took an unexpected turn when they were charged with the allegations of under-inflated footballs. Even though it was confirmed that the balls were properly inflated, it was after the interception by Colts linebacker, D’Qwell Jackson that suspicion arose. Following a halftime investigation, it was revealed that 11 out of the 12 Patriots’ balls were under-inflated notably by one to two pounds per square inch.

This meant that the Patriots violated the league’s mandated minimum pressure of 12.5 psi. Immediately, the NFL Commissioner, Roger Goodell, and Executive President, Troy Vincent handed down penalties to quarterback Tom Brady and the program. He received a four-game suspension even after acknowledging the lack of evidence regarding Brady’s involvement.
