Now that he works with those big boys of the NFL in the LA Chargers, Ben Herbert has adopted some strategies to guide them toward Jim Harbaugh’s ultimate dream: the Super Bowl. Daniel Wade from Locked on Chargers gave intel on how Herbert is carrying out the strength and conditioning workouts of the Chargers’ new roster.
“Everything he was saying was very intentional. Just letting guys know exactly why they’re doing what they’re doing, why they’re doing the stretches, the workouts, exactly what they’re hoping to prevent or hoping to strengthen by doing it. He was in front of being able to kind of go through the workouts and show people how to do it properly,” Wade said, speaking of Herbert giving the ultimate clarity on each move he taught the players. “Also they really had things broken up into small groups. The players kind of watched him and listened and kind of just hung on everything he said,” Wade further added, displaying the bond Ben Herbert had formed, with the dash of assertiveness needed out of a coach, with the Chargers roster. The Chargers weight room since Ben Herbert took over
“When I tell you that things are squared away … that’s Ben Herbert,” Jim Harbaugh said proudly after handing over the reins of a much shabby-looking weight room at Chargers and a shop vac to Ben Herbert. Herbert, during his press conference on Tuesday, revealed that his aim stays the same for the Chargers as it was at Michigan – To make his team the biggest bullies on the field.Hayden Hurst, the newly added player to the Chargers’ roster, was quite impressed with what Ben Herbert and his staff brought to the table, not only making the players physically tough but also making them strong by helping them overcome their deficiencies and helping them overcome.
