Rome Odunze, the wide receiver for the Washington Huskies, is speculated to be the number 2 pick in the WR category, right after Marvin Harrison. Even though the Ohio State Buckeyes’ talent is projected to be the best in the class, it can be argued that Odunze could be an equal recipient of the top spot. Recently, it was rumored that Harrison is trying to tamper with the Draft by making his dream of playing with Williams in Chicago come true. Now that Odunze’s name is popping up to take the lead, Harrison’s bubble might be getting popped soon.

The Bears should select Odunze with their pick

On the 20th April episode of the NBC Sports Chicago show, Kenneth Davis and James Neveau took to the mic to discuss all things related to the Chicago Bears. Later, they dove deep into the topic of who the Bears should draft in the WR category and everyone cleared Rome Odunze’s name as the potential option.

Neveau said, “If a guy like Rome Odunze is on the board at number nine, I have to go and make that move. I think the ability to add a potentially game-breaking wide receiver and to pair him with DJ Moore for multiple years, is something I’m just not going to be able to overlook. I think that they’re gonna get some enticing offers but ultimately if I were Ryan Pulls, I would end up pulling the trigger on a guy like Odunze for sure.” With all that said, here’s Odunze himself, speaking about how he just might be the best WR in the 2023 class.

Rome Odunze believes he clears all the other WRs

On one of the episodes of the Pivot Podcast, Odunze appeared on the show to talk about his aspirations to go into the NFL soon. Also, he ended up complimenting his skill set while trying his best to not sound condescending towards his competitors.

He said, “I think I’m the best wide receiver in the draft, just because my versatility, who I am as a player. I think when you turn on the tape, I don’t see anything that is missing compared to the other guys or something that they have that I don’t or, you know, vice versa.” Thus, with the oncoming of April 25, we will find out who the better WR is, Rome Odunze or Marvin Harrison Jr., both talented players in their rights.
