The exit of Saban has also added more responsibilities on the head of Milroe since the star QB and his talents will be direly needed. Additionally, Nick Saban laid more stress on Milroe’s personality development and how it will be crucial for the team’s success, which is something the QB seems to be working on now.

Kalen Deboer praises Jalen Milroe’s character traits

As per the newest words of the HC Kalen Deboer, Jalen Milroe is one of the most enthusiastic people in the locker room and helps bring about a change in the team’s overall mood. DeBoer’s praise comes a while after Nick Saban talked about the QB and his potential that could be unlocked if he chooses to “stay in the right place emotionally and focuses on the next play.” 

‘Tony Tsoukalas’, the managing editor for the Tide Illustrated magazine, tweeted about DeBoer’s quotes about Jalen Milroe. He wrote, “DeBoer says Jalen Milroe brings a mix of positivity and accountability to Alabama’s locker room. DeBoer said Jalen Milroe is at Alabama’s facility at 5:30 a.m. every day.” The QB looks to be changing his ways and the new HC has evidently noticed, which is going to help with the bond between the teammates as the 2024 season draws close. It is almost tragic that Jalen Milroe has been a part of the only class that hasn’t won a national championship under Nick Saban. The legendary coach brought in a total of 6 championships to the team but witnessed a trophy drought since the 2020 season before eventually retiring in 2024. Though Milroe has gone through his entire college record without hoisting a trophy, Saban had big words to say about the youngster and how he’s unlike any quarterback he’s ever seen.

While praising Milroe’s mentality to play in close pockets and his offensive maneuvers, Saban said, “The one thing about Jalen Milroe that a lot of these other quarterbacks can’t do: Make you play different on defense. Not easy to play man-to-man. You start playing man-to-man everybody has their back to the quarterback, he takes off, there’s nobody to get him on the ground.” Thus, Milroe’s capabilities will play a vital part in the 2024 season for Alabama since they expect big results from Kalen as well as the QB to make it big this year after nearly missing out on the national championship game last year.
