The Colorado Buffaloes football team might be facing some tough times, but Deion Sanders has a reason to celebrate. Deiondra recently celebrated her 32nd birthday and was showered with well-wishes from friends and family. While Buffs fans noticed Coach Prime’s absence from the online celebrations, he surprised everyone with a heartfelt birthday message to his “favorite child” later that evening. To further make up for missing the initial festivities, Deion shared a special surprise, expressing his unconditional love for Deiondra.

Moreover, Prime is all excited to become a grandfather soon. At 56, he felt a little “young” for the title at first. However, his love for his daughter, Deiondra Sanders, has helped him embrace the idea.

Coach Prime declares Deiondra his favorite on her birthday

Coach Prime took to Instagram to share a birthday message for his daughter Deiondra Sanders. It looks like it was posted by Deion Sanders Jr. on his dad’s handle. The caption read, “My FAVORITE CHILD, MY RYDA, Happy birthday @deiondrasanders, Daddy Loves u so much! #andYoLilBaby!” The post featured a sweet video call between Deion and his daughter. He playfully teased Deiondra about a photo where she towered over her partner Jacquees while wearing heels. “You can’t do that!” he joked.

Then, he went right into a heartfelt “Happy Birthday, baby!” Deiondra was all happy as she responded, “Thank You, Daddy, I’ll see you next week”. The true surprise came when Coach Prime declared, “You’re my favorite kid, you’re my favorite child.” He even reflected this sentiment in the post’s caption.

It seems Coach Prime’s “favorite child” title changes monthly, and with Deiondra’s pregnancy, she’s temporarily bumped Shilo and the others out of the top spot.

Deion Sanders rotating his “favorite child” list

Deion Sanders loves to pick a “Favorite Kid,” and the title seems to change with every day. Last December, Deion Sanders Jr. was the top pick for his hard work and consistency in building the Buffs’ brand. He also playfully explained why star quarterback Shedeur didn’t make the top spot: “He’s not ‘sonning’ like he should be… sometimes he thinks he’s the father.” 

In February, it was Shilo’s turn to grab the spotlight. Coach Prime called him his “FAVORITE FAVORITE SON” while wishing him on his birthday. Shilo’s consistency on the field seems to earn him his dad’s approval and move him up the ranks quickly.

But even with all these changes, Prime had explained once that his children are always No. 1 on the list on their birthdays. Now, pregnant daughter Deiondra has stolen the spotlight as the latest “favorite child.” We’ll have to wait and see if she holds the top spot or if things shake up again come December with Shelomi and Sanders Jr.’s birthdays.
