The Dallas Cowboys have been absolutely embarrassed by the Commanders and Jerry Jones is not happy. Even though the Cowboys are a fan favorite for the playoffs, they lost a game against a team that sits at the bottom of their table. With missed passes, interceptions, and poor defense, the Cowboys do not look like a playoff team.

After an embarrassing 6-26 loss, Jerry Jones had strong words in his locker room interview. He did not hold back when he spoke about how the team needed to step up and play better. Jones spoke about the tough challenges ahead of them in the Wild-Card match where they’ll have to face Brady.

Stern words from Jerry Jones

While Jones is the biggest hype man of the Cowboys, it seems like he is also the biggest critic. However, it seems like, after such an embarrassing loss, the Cowboys might need some tough love from their GM. The GM made sure his words for his team were public as he addressed the loss in a locker-room interview.

He talked about the effect the defeat ought to have on the group and his desire to inspire the players to utilize the defeat as fuel for the ensuing playoff contest. Furthermore, he also said, “We get to suck on that all week, and if that doesn’t make you want to get ready to go in about six-seven days nothing else will. And that was as thorough a butt-kicking as we’ve had this year and uh we’re gonna find out if it gets you ready or not.” Jones also mentioned that time will tell if the team is fired up or not. However, this is a rare occasion where Jones has such publicly stern words for his team. Usually, the jovial owner is all smiles for his team and his players.

The hype man Jones

Jones’ words were unexpected. The owner-GM is usually one of the most vocal supporters of his team. There have been multiple instances wherein he has actually shown his support for players that were not the most popular. Dak Prescott’s case is one that is the most prominent one. The GM was a staunch advocate for the QB when everyone was doubting Prescott’s abilities.

While Jones’ firm words might come as a surprise, they are timely with the presence of the Tom Brady-shaped obstacle the Cowboys will face in the playoffs. Therefore, it will be interesting to see if his words motivated the Cowboys to pull together and perform well.
