New York Jets have gone on to bring Aaron Rodgers to the roster. Not only this, Allen Lazard, Randall Cobb, and Billy Turner have all also moved from Green Bay Packers to New York with their QB. The Jets are looking like a formidable team, even bringing in WR Mecole Hardman from the Super Bowl-winning Kansas City Chiefs. All of these signings are to ensure that Aaron Rodgers has all the weapons to lead the team to a Super Bowl contention-worthy season. However, some updates show that the QB still doesn’t seem to be satisfied with his new team.

But despite building the dream team to back up A-Rod on the field, there is still one aspect that continues to be a struggle point between the Jets and the QB. The question is, will they find a solution to it soon?

Aaron Rodgers still working on a new contract with the Jets

Before the trade took place, Aaron Rodgers had a contract with the Packers that paid him a salary of $1.165 million with an option bonus of $58.3 million. The QB decided to push his option bonus entirely to 2024. This means that while Rodgers will earn a minimum salary for this year, he is set to make around $107.5 million next year. 

According to an article by Mike Florio for NBC Sports, Jets GM Joe Douglas said, “We didn’t know that it was actually going to go down to the minimum, so when they re-did the deal, you know, we saw the new number, knew that we saw that it was low for this year. We’re still working on restructuring aspects of the deal as we speak, but we feel like we’re in a really good place”
