The 7x Super Bowl winner, however, threw his weight behind the world’s most valuable company’s climate change mission.

As the great Stan Lee or Winston Churchill or Voltaire, depending on who you ask, said, “With great power, comes great responsibility.” Now more than ever, celebrities are going against convention and expressing vocal support for movements like Black Lives Matter, climate change and queer issues.

New Apple video bowls over 7x Super Bowl champ

After the recently concluded Apple Event, the tech world was buzzing with conversations about the new lineup of iPhones. People may argue over whether the new iPhone 15s are really new in terms of innovation, but Apple’s video featuring Octavia Spencer as Mother Nature was surely new.

The Hall-of-Famer seemed thoroughly impressed with the video and retweeted Tim Cook’s video tweet with the caption, “Awesome ❤️” on X (formerly Twitter). In the video, Mother Nature can be seen asking the top brass at Apple for a status report on its climate change initiatives. The video ends with Mother Nature leaving satisfied after being told that Apple is carbon neutral and that by 2030 all its products will have net zero climate impact.

The ace footballer, businessman, investor, and author – at this point is there anything the legend cannot do? The former QB does not just talk about climate change but acts on it as well.

Brady’s track record as a supporter of climate change initiatives

Gisele Bündchen, the Brazilian superstar and his wife of 13 years, has been a major influence on him. Brady posted a video of Bündchen’s appearance on a National Geographic series on climate change. “I’m so proud of her work as a correspondent, bringing awareness and consciousness to what’s happening with our climate!” Brady wrote. 

Last year on Valentine’s Day, the supermodel presented a unique gift to her then-husband. She declared on Instagram that she planted trees in his name via The Nature Conservancy. Brady reciprocated by doing the same for her.

To minimize his family’s carbon footprint, he built a new house that uses solar energy, gray-water technology, and composting. 80% of the construction material was reused or recycled material.

Wielding the significant influence that they have, we would like to see more celebrities expressing support for social causes. And a cause as serious as climate change demands all our collective action and energies.
