It has been almost a month since Aaron Rodgers announced his intention to play for the New York Jets. The QB wants to move away from the Green Bay Packers and the franchises continue to talk in order to chalk out a deal. But things aren’t moving as swiftly as the fans would have expected. Amid all that, Rich Eisen has put forward the Jets concerns as far as the negotiations go. This comes as the Jets’ Rodgers deal seems to have hit a wall.

The QB is like a magic wand for the Jets playoff woes and they see him as a short-term solution for success. But the Packers seem to still be holding out for a better deal. Will the deal actually go through between the two parties?

Acclaimed sports commentator Rich Eisen believes that the Jets will eventually get their way in the Aaron Rodgers deal. Claiming that the Packers don’t want him at Lambeau Field anymore, the self-professed Jets fan said that if the Packers want the draft choices this year, they will have to complete the deal before the picks are on the clock.

“We all know Rodgers isn’t playing for the Packers anymore. Packers don’t want him there. Also, he’s too damn expensive. Its gotta happen, we know it. And if the Packers want the draft choices now, trade’s gotta be done now. Between now and when picks are on the clock, the Jets aren’t coughing up the one, they aren’t coughing up the 13th overall,” the sports commentator said on the ‘Rich Eisen Show’.

The Packers wanted a first-round draft pick included in the deal, but the Jets have so far resisted the temptation of going through. It now looks like a matter of who will blink first as the deal has come to a standstill. Also, the Green Bay franchise has already gone with Jordan Love as their QB1, effectively closing the doors for Rodgers. How long will both sides hold out?

The statement could very well be a hint that the deal is already in place. Both the franchises could very well wait till the draft to announce it for the fans. If the deal doesn’t go through for the Jets, there could be a little trouble brewing up at MetLife Stadium. Also, the Packers’ attempt to rebuild will hit a wall if they don’t clear the Rodgers cap space.
