Tom Brady sets the bar high

The hot topic of discussion is, are older quarterbacks held to higher standards because of the precedent Brady set? Former Pro Bowler Bart Scott thinks so. Speaking on the show ‘First Take’ with Stephen A. Smith, Scott took a stance on Brady’s impact. He said, “I blame Tom Brady for this. I blame Tom Brady because we assume that every quarterback that has a resume, that has an MVP on it, has playoff wins, a Super Bowl behind them, that they can play well into their 40s and they have the ability to win Super Bowls in their 40s.” Aaron Rodgers is by no means a mediocre quarterback.

But as a highly accomplished veteran, there is so much that is expected of him. Plus, Rodgers seems to be the sole bearer of Packers head coach Matt LaFleur’s offensive vision. Without the support of Davante Adams, is the enormity of his responsibility finally sinking in? Rodgers is not the only quarterback facing this. The Broncos put their money on potential redemption in acquiring Russell Wilson. There’s no need to elaborate on how that’s going.

Brady and Rodgers have hit a roadblock

About a month ago, Hall of Famer Kurt Warner suggested that Brady and Rodgers’ time was up. Stating that the two of them look exhausted, the former quarterback said that perhaps it was time for the veterans to walk away.

This December Aaron Rodgers will turn 39. The quarterback is currently having a season he would like to soon forget. The Packers broke a humiliating five-game losing streak with a close win over the Cowboys, but that victory was short-lived after a 17-27 loss to the Titans. Currently, at a disappointing 4-7, they will take on the dominant Philadelphia Eagles. On the other side, Brady is having a better season with the Bucs, currently at 5-5. But it is by no means close to being his best performance. Despite their performances this season, both quarterbacks are having it does not look like either of them is going to walk away anytime soon.
