Deshaun Watson looked like his former QB self on Sunday night. The Cleveland Browns beat the Washington Commanders handsomely at FedEx Field and Watson was in full swing. Browns fans appreciated their controversial quarterback’s efforts but also didn’t forget to bring up the past. However, some seem to have forgiven and forgotten Deshaun’s past allegations. And one of them is the NBA legend, LeBron James.

The 27-year-old QB from Clemson had a 50% passing accuracy night and three touchdown passes in the 24-10 win. Watson, Nick Chubb, and Amari Cooper tore apart the Commanders’ defense. And 4x NBA champion LeBron James showered praises on Deshaun. “Yessir, D Watson!! Another one. That boy getting his rhythm back,” LBJ tweeted.

LeBron James has been a lifelong Browns fan and his support was somewhat justified. What the NFL world objected to was his open shout-out for Deshaun Watson.

LeBron James was a longtime Dallas Cowboys fan. However, after Cowboys owner Jerry Jones threatened to fire players overtaking the knee during the national anthem protests in 2017, Bron had a major change of heart. The recent Jerry Jones photo from his high school days showing him in a desegregation protest added to that fire in Bron’s heart. However, his alleged hypocrisy when dealing with the Deshaun Watson situation was quickly pointed out.

It was also disclosed that Watson’s former team, the Houston Texans, aided and enabled Deshaun’s misconduct in the alleged activities that have since been denied by the QB and his team of lawyers. The signal-caller paid heavily with an 11-game suspension from the NFL and a hefty $5 million fine. And Watson paid his dues to make his return this season against his former team. However, last night was something else altogether. And maybe LeBron wasn’t too ridiculous to post his support.
