The Kelce brothers made NFL history last Sunday when they both won their respective conference crowns and fixed a date at the State Farm Arena for Super Bowl LVII. Or as it is now being called, the Kelce Bowl I. And this road to the Lombardi has required sacrifice and hard work. Travis Kelce and his brother Jason set another example recently.

And it was an especially hard one to resist. The tight end-and-centre siblings rejected an invitation to party with NFL legend and future Hall of Famer Rob Gronkowski at Gronk Beach. And the Kelce brothers aren’t ones to keep your invites hanging. In fact, they sent their negative RSVPs over voice mail on their podcast.

Rob Gronkowski Didn’t Receive Jason’s call

Travis and Jason had Gronk over on the New Heights podcast a few weeks ago. However, the brothers hadn’t booked their berth at the Super Bowl at the time and happily accepted the invitation to the Gronk Beach festivities this year. However, the Kansas City Chiefs beat the Bengals. And the Eagles triumphed over the San Francisco 49ers. Sadly, the partying has to wait for Travis.

“Rob, this is Jason and Travis Kelce. Just wanna apologise that we’re not gonna be able to make it to Gronk Beach. We are looking forward to seeing you kicking the field goal. Well, actually, we might not be able to even see that. But we hope you make it for America,” Jason said on the voicemail, while Travis shouted in the background, “we’ll be there next year.”

Travis Kelce tied Gronk with his 15th postseason touchdown and can take the lead if he connects with Patrick Mahomes in Super Bowl LVII. Also, Mahomes has connected with Kelce a record 13 times in the NFL playoffs to set the all-time second-highest touchdown record (13).

Travis Kelce and his brother got the callback

Gronk won 4 Super Bowl championships with New England Patriots and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Understandably, he is not one to pick up calls from unknown numbers. However, the legendary tight end called the Kelces back while they were still on the podcast.

Philadelphia’s Jason Kelce narrated the entire ordeal, and Rob was quite understanding. “Oh man, I was hoping one of you would come, but you have way more important things. The party will always be here,” Gronkowski said.

The Chiefs and the Eagles face off in a no. 1 seeded AFC-NFC clash on February 12. This is the first time the top-seeded conference franchises are facing off for the Lombardi since 2017. And Gronk is rooting for Philly. However, in this entire scenario, there is only one assured winner. Travis and Jason’s mom, Donna Kelce, can root for whomever she wants to, but she will emerge a winner, regardless.
