Ben Roethlisberger and the Pittsburgh Steelers have had a fantastic run this season. On Monday, the Steelers had their 11-0 undefeated streak broken by the Washington Football Team. However, one loss cannot take away from how impressive their run was. Even though the Steelers were not playing at their highest level, they managed to squeeze out victories, something only the best teams can do.

Much of the Steelers’ fantastic run is credited to the great performances of star quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. The veteran quarterback has been fantastic for the Steelers. He is averaging almost his career-best completion rate at 66.9%, just short of his career-high 68%.

However, due to the schedule impacted by the pandemic, the Steelers havent been able to practice as much. The Steelers’ offensive coordinator Randy Fletcher spoke about how they have maximized the limited practice time with Ben Roethlisberger. Fletcher said that Ben has thrown the ball around a lot, and that has improved his distribution.

He said “I hate to use the idea that Ben in these shorter weeks hasn’t practiced … but they catch on jugs. But there’s something getting more balls and the basic practice schedules where Ben can throw to those receivers. I’m looking forward to that today.”

Roethlisberger has completed 324 passes and is averaging 6.4 yards per pass. Additionally, he has also gotten sacked for the least number of times in his career so far this season, with 10. Roethlisberger has been one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL season, and he is one of the driving forces behind the Steelers.
At this point, the Steelers look set to make the playoffs as the second seed in the AFC. They have the next four games to solidify their spot in the playoffs. However, many have questioned how the Steelers will perform in the playoffs. Many have noted that the Steelers havent performed to thier highest potential during the regular season. Yet they have managed to win 11 games out of 12.

It will be interesting to see how the Steelers will finish their NFL season prior to the playoffs. They must improve their style of play before the playoffs begins, so that they can play to the highest level.
