Tom Brady will make an appearance for his 23rd season with Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He had decided to retire in the starting months of 2022. After 40-days, Brady called off his retirement and announced he would play the third season with the Buccaneers. Although Brady has assured them he will play, his teammate and TE Rob Gronkowski’s position still remains doubtful.

The practice sessions are about to begin, but Gronkowski still hasn’t signed a deal or has said anything. Will Rob return to Tampa Bay?

Gronkowski has said in an interview with SB Nation, “Like I said, I love all my teammates there. They are all great teammates and all selfless players. They are there for the team, and what’s best for the team and the whole organization. If I do play football again, it’ll be for the Bucs.”

Rob had officially retired in 2018 after playing his 9-seasons with the New England Patriots. He is currently thinking and has not decided anything. However, he has confirmed that if he makes the decision to play, it will definitely be with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski have played 11 NFL seasons together

There is a high chance that Rob might play for the Buccaneers. Recently Tom Brady reconstructed his contract for this NFL season, freeing the additional salary cap space for the Buccaneers. With this, the Buccaneers can go on to make some changes in their roster. Moreover, there are chances that the Bucs may offer a revised contract to TE Rob Gronkowski in the off-season.

NFL Legend Had to Issue Formal Apology to Colin Kaepernick After Making Inappropriate Suggestion to QB

Gronkowski has played all his 11 seasons with Tom Brady as his quarterback. He also came out of his retirement to play alongside Tom Brady, and they together won the Super Bowl for the Bucs. Altogether, Rob Gronkowski has won 4 Super Bowls and all of them with Tom Brady. Not only this, the duo has connected for 15 post-season touchdowns, which is a league record in itself.

Gronk doesn’t have a decision date?

Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski share a great relationship and have remained very close friends. There is a possibility that Tom restructured his contract so the Bucs can retain Gronk. Brady is already 44 years old, and he might be playing one of his last NFL seasons. He would definitely want Rob to play beside him so they can once again win the Super Bowl together.

On the other hand, Rob has also said, “I don’t really have a decision date. I don’t ever have to decide — if I don’t decide then that just means I’m not playing! There really is no decision that I have to make in my life, maybe I’ll just go the rest of my life without ever deciding. People will be like ‘Rob, what did you decide?’ when I’m like 70 years old, and I’ll say: ‘It’s still up in the air.”

Gronk made it clear that if a decision doesn’t come, then it would mean he is not playing. All the teams are busy with their practices, and it’s already quite late. So what do we make of this? Is Rob retiring again?

It would be surprising to see Brady starting the game without Rob Gronkowski. It would be more surprising if Gronk joins another team and they face off against each other. There are chances he might be waiting for a better offer from the Buccaneers, and if they really want to acquire him, they will soon make one. We hope there is a decision coming up very soon.
