The Niners are on a streak of bad luck right now and are losing to unsuspecting matches. Maybe it’s the complacency of $6 Billion franchise or maybe they are genuinely messing up some core plays. After the loss, Christian McCaffrey wasn’t exactly in the best spirits as he let it known. The San Francisco 49ers have 2 back-to-back losses now, but in this game, Kirk Cousins and the Minnesota Vikings didn’t make it feel like their win was some kind of fluke.

The dejected team now mulls over the unfortunate loss and just like every other team in the NFL, the 49ers are getting their fair share of unwanted attention. Amid this, Christian McCaffrey came out and shared some heartfelt words after the loss.

An NFL Network associate posted an excerpt from CMC’s interview post-game. The tweet highlights how McCaffrey’s fumble was the key reason behind the Niners’ loss. The truth may be contested, but not after Christian McCaffrey came out to the media and admitted that the debacle led to one more blemish on the team’s record. He mentioned in the interview how this fumble was a ‘big mistake’ and that mistake ‘cost them the game’. All this even after scoring 2 TDs in a game. So, what really happened?

It was the first quarter; the Vikings had the possession when the San Fran team intercepted Kirk Cousins. The 49ers were going for a TD before CMC fumbled in the endzone. This ended up with Vikings getting the possession of the ball. It was just a matter of time before the Vikings responded with their own attempt, and they succeeded. At this point, the damage was done to the Niners as the Vikings rowed ahead with 7-0.

Not only did the loss tainted the 49ers’ record, but it was also due to the fact that this was a crucial game for the Niners. “I’ll take a good hard look in the mirror” mentioned McCaffrey in the interview. There are no questions about CMC’s work ethic, we know for a fact that he is a diligent athlete.

CMC is a fighter

The loss wreaked havoc on the running back as he was seen visibly upset throughout the video. Per him, making up with two touchdowns does not counter the fumble. But in the past, Christian McCaffrey has given more insight into his life and his idol Frank Gore where he mentioned that he is gunning for ‘longevity’. Even his teammate Kyle Juszczyk came forward and mentioned how hard McCaffrey trains.

Safe to say that the 49ers’ RB inspires people around him to do better. His contributions to the team are well beyond the sport. Kyle Juszczyk mentioned how CMC likes to fix his weaknesses and works even harder to not repeat the same mistakes. The next game will be even more exciting. Why? Because Brock Purdy will be going against Joe Burrow.
