“I’m a very cowardly and scared dancer.” When Stephen Nedoroscik first stepped into the Dancing With The Stars world, he wouldn’t have imagined in his wildest dreams that he’d finish his season in the top 4. From doubting if his lower body would even move, to this achievement, he has come a long way. And although he didn’t win, there was something more that he earned. Something out-of-the-ordinary that no male gymnast has even come close to achieving.
Back in May 2025, when Dancing With The Stars won the 2025 Critics Choice Real TV Award for the best competition series (Talent/Variety), at the same time, Nedoroscik was announced as the recipient of the 2025 Critics Choice Male Star of the Year for the Real TV Awards. That’s when the 2x Olympic medalist, Stephen Nedoroscik, reacted in an X post, “I am speechless, thank you…” But the real feeling? That doesn’t come till you actually ‘lift’ the trophy, right? And that wait for Nedoroscik has taken nearly a month to come!
Yes, nearly a month after he was announced the winner, on June 22, Stephen Nedoroscik added an Instagram story, with the Male Star of the Year trophy firmly held in his hand. That’s when he added the note, “Look what came in the mail today!!!!” Looks like it was the first time that Nedoroscik laid hands on his prize. Until now, he’d just been virtually announced as the winner, and that’s why he had just given out a social media statement accepting the honor.

But today, as Stephen Nedoroscik made history as the first ever gymnast in the 33 seasons of Dancing With The Stars to get honored as the Male Star of The Year, he couldn’t help but show a snippet to the world of the trophy held in his hands. Today, his words, “unbelievable” and “This means the world to me,” that he had expressed online after he won, would have actually felt true as the Dancing With The Stars former contestant, Nedoroscik, finally got to relish what he had earned.

Moreover, this trophy is truly a testament to how far Stephen has come. He first caught the world’s eye when his video from the men’s all-around finals at the Paris Olympics went viral. He was assumed to be sleeping, but in reality, he was doing his “breathing exercises.” Then he made waves as the pommel horse guy. And finally, when he debuted on DWTS, he became a sensation as Team USA’s Clark Kent, and for his amazing coordination with Rylee.

Is Stephen Nedoroscik competing again soon?
It’s safe to say that the last time we saw Stephen Nedoroscik competitively was at the Paris Olympics 2024, because after that, the gymnast just vanished off the mats. While Team America’s gymnasts made their debut on the Gold Over America Tour, Stephen skipped it to make his reality TV debut on Dancing With the Stars.

But then what? Well, Stephen Nedoroscik extended his training contract with EVO Gymnastics in May 2025 and officially resumed training with them. On May 7, he teased his gymnastics fans with a video on Instagram captioned, “First day back on pommels vs Second Day…” He flexed his skills with a few skilled and controlled pommel horse moves. In the meantime, his name did remain absent from the list of gymnasts confirmed for the Pan American Championships this month.
Until now, his most recent story on June 9 again was a snippet of him on the pommel horse, caught up in the flow of practice. He captioned the story, “Something a lil different.” Followed by “Gotta catch all the weird in the back.” Well, it seemed like a cryptic hint that he is trying something new. So right now, there’s a lot of confusion as to what exactly his plans are. But one thing is sure, he is back in the gym for his training sessions!
