Sha’Carri Richardson’s 2025 season didn’t have a spectacular fireworks worthy start that most would have expected. A 4th-place and 11.47-second run at the Tokyo Golden Grand Prix, she ran a season-best 10.94 seconds to finish fifth in the women’s 100m final at the 2025 World Athletics Championships in Tokyo. Despite the early hurdles, Richardson anchored the U.S. 4×100m relay team to the gold medal in 41.75 seconds, edging Jamaica by 0.04 seconds. But when it comes to viewership on YouTube, Richardson seems to be leading the way.

Needless to say, the 4x100m race was a redeeming moment for Sha’Carri Richardson. While many initially considered her a lost cause following her problematic 2025 season, the views proved that she still remains a highly relevant entity in the world of track and field. But do you know how she reacted after bringing the 4x100m gold?
Sha’Carri Richardson credits coach after redemption run at Tokyo
Richardson gave the credit for her win to her coaches – Dennis Mitchell and Chareif Lewis. She gave them the respect that they deserved for their creativity. She stated, “They come up with things that other coaches, I know for sure, would never think of. And I’m thinking about fall training right now, so…” The Olympian simply knew that her coaches were always going to set the bar pretty high.
During an interview in the mixed zone following the big win, a reporter asked Sha’Carri Richardson about ‘The Green Machine.’ And Richardson revealed that he teaches in a way that none of the athletes have experienced before. She continued, “He teaches us as people, he teaches us as athletes, and he takes care of everything that you wouldn’t even think you need as an athlete, if that makes sense.”

Well, Mitchell’s coaching style focuses on teaching the athletes how to flow smoothly through each section of a race. The form has to be efficient, the run has to be clean, and the athletes have to maintain their top speed for as long as possible. But that’s not all! His methods also keep the athletes’ patience, confidence, and mental side strong. No wonder Richardson managed to secure the gold at the relay.
But do let us know what you think of her booming viewership, which has surpassed that of Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone and Noah Lyles.
