ONE Championship’s first all-Muay Thai card is finally complete with the addition of an exciting lightweight pairing. At ONE Fight Night 17: Kryklia vs. Roberts on Friday, December 8, former World Title challenger Dmitry Menshikov will step into his third promotional outing. It will be against Spanish-Moroccan striker Mouhcine Chafi inside the iconic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

Menshikov had the spotlight on him as soon as he arrived in the world’s largest martial arts organization. He challenged Regian Eersel for the ONE Lightweight Muay Thai World Title in his debut at ONE Fight Night 11 this past June. Unfortunately, he couldn’t score a shock win against the Surinamese superstar, who handed him a knockout in the opening round.

An important fight for Dmitry Menshikov

The 25-year-old striker was undeterred, though, and he showed his own stopping power by snapping Rungrawee Sitsongpeenong’s three-fight winning streak via a first-round knockout at ONE Fight Night 14 in September.

Menshikov will undoubtedly have revenge and gold on his mind when he steps into action against Chafi on December 8. However, ‘The Assassin’ will have other plans in his second promotional appearance.

Chafi came in as a late replacement to take on a two-time ONE World Title challenger Sinsamut Klinmee. Though he didn’t capture the win, the former WBC champion won over fans with his incredible heart and skills. He’ll now look to rebound from that debut loss to show that he belongs among the planet’s elite strikers.
