ONE Strawweight World Champion Joshua “The Passion” Pacio has admired Jarred “The Monkey God” Brooks’ bag of tricks every time the American upstart has competed inside the Circle.

And the Team Lakay representative has also been impressed by the Mash Fight Team’s skills on the mic – particularly his infamous diss tracks aimed at Hiroba Minowa and Bokang “Little Giant” Masunyane.

Joshua Pacio praised Jarred Brooks’ outside of Circle skills
Brooks’ outspoken persona plus his world-class wrestling skills have allowed him to make a notable impact in ONE Championship since he debuted last year. The 29-year-old is a huge fan of mind games, and his rap songs are part of the package.
However, Pacio won’t be planning to dance to Brooks’ tune when they collide for the divisional strap at ONE 164 on December 3 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

“The Passion” gives credit where it’s due, but he also makes it clear that whatever the mouthy American does in the leadup to their showdown, it’s only going to end one way when they square off in their five-round battle at the Mall of Asia Arena in Manila, Philippines.

“I’ve heard his rap [songs], and I think it’s great. Those are some great mic skills, to be honest,” Pacio said.
“He can make a new one and use it as his entrance music, and rap his way to the Circle. Then after, I will go and knock him out.”

Jarred Brooks has shown a vicious arsenal inside the Circle
Brooks has been goading the strawweight king since he arrived in ONE last November. He finished Pacio’s training partner, Lito “Thunder Kid” Adiwang, with an arm-triangle choke in his debut and called for his World Title shot immediately following the bout.
And he did the same when he defeated #3-ranked Minowa and #2-ranked Masunyane in his subsequent outings while bolstering his callouts with claims that Pacio would be no competition for him.

His wins and word have set him on a collision course with the Team Lakay kingpin.

The two were originally slated to headline ONE 158 in June this year, but a scheduling conflict prevented it from happening.
However, the promotion has found a much better stage for them to go toe-to-toe in December, and by the time ONE 164 comes to an end, the world will know who deserves to reign atop the strawweight division.
