Stamp Fairtex discusses interaction with Angela Lee in Singapore

The event, which takes place inside the Singapore Indoor Stadium, will be broadcast live and for free on Amazon Prime Video for fans across North America. The Fairtex product had an emotional encounter with reigning divisional queen Angela Lee in a hotel lobby in Singapore this week, and she took to Instagram to share their interaction. While she won’t be competing on the card, it has been reported that Lee will be gracing the event with her presence to make an announcement about her future.

The ONE Women’s Atomweight MMA World Champion has taken a step back from competition following the tragic loss of her sister, Victoria, last December, which spurred the organization to introduce an interim title to the stacked division. In an interview with SCMP MMA, Stamp shared that it was a special moment for her to meet ‘Unstoppable’ again. “It was very emotional as it was the first time I met with Angela after her sister passed away,” she said. I just wanted to let her know that I will be her support here. I love her, and she’s still my idol. If she needs anything in life – whether she continues fighting or not – I will always support her.”

The last time Stamp and Lee were in the same event, they were on opposite sides of the Circle. At ONE X in March 2022, the former two-sport World Champion was looking to capture gold in a third sport by putting an end to the Singaporean-American’s dominant reign. This time around, they were just two athletes sharing words of encouragement with one another as they face different battles.

Angela Lee’s new venture in mental health is a tribute to her late sister Victoria Lee

In a recent interview, Lee took a brave stand to reveal that a car accident she was involved in 2017 was actually an attempt to take her own life. The 27-year-old superstar also, for the first time, publicly acknowledged that her sister had died as a result of suicide in the same piece. In an effort to honor her sister and help others who may be struggling with their mental health, Lee has launched a non-profit organization, ‘Fightstory,’ that aims to be a space for people to discuss such issues.

Meanwhile, Stamp is hoping to make history when she takes on South Korean MMA legend Ham. Her opponent carries a wealth of experience into Friday’s World Title tilt, but the Thai star is confident that her superior striking can help her overcome her most significant challenge yet.  Whether Lee will be cheering for Stamp to be her successor or challenger, it’s clear that the pair will always have a deep connection that goes beyond the fight game.
