After two seasons at Ann Arbor, WR Parker Livingstone announced his entry to the portal on January 02. The sophomore wrote a lengthy goodbye message that stated, ‘Some things are out of control’ and ‘the reality of the ever-changing landscape,’ hinting that he was influenced to leave. At this stage, the Texas alum responded, taking a swing at Livingstone, revealing his actual intentions.

Learning Livingstone’s statement, Kathryn Eaton, a Texas alum, called out the redshirt freshman on X, revealing that money was the primary reason behind his transfer portal move. She also stated that his agents had already been in negotiations with the rival program, Oklahoma, for weeks, revealing his visit to Norman.

“After the facts come out, playing the victim is a choice,” wrote Kathryn Eaton, reposting Parker Livingstone’s announcement on X. “Didn’t get the $ you thought you deserved, so now you run because you were forced out. Instead of being “ALL IN” in 2026 to make a run, you dipped. And now taking a trip to OU, who your agents have been talking to for weeks.”

Kathryn revealed that he could have chosen to stay with the Longhorns for 2026, competing at his current pay, but he was trying to paint himself as a victim.

Sources reveal that Livingstone was offered a mid-six-figure NIL revenue-sharing deal from the Longhorns, but the wide receiver had turned down the offer to enter the portal involuntarily, per Bobby Burton. If he had had a significant raise in his pay, he would have remained with the program.

While this is stated as one reason, the Athletics Report states that Texas is looking for an upgrade in the receiver room in the portal, targeting five-star WR Cam Coleman. The crowded receivers room is stated as the other reason behind his exit. However, in both cases, fans and alumni argue that he had complete control of his decision and there’s no external influence.
