Shawn Michaels has had a very successful career in the WWE. He has faced the who’s who of the Wrestling world and been part of many iconic rivalries. There was one rivalry that WWE fans never got to see materialize. This match that never happened would have pitted HBK against The People’s Champ Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Many attribute this to the bumpy relations the two superstars shared backstage.

Michaels recently sat down with Logan Paul for his podcast, Impaulsive, and discussed various facets of his career, including his relationship with The Rock. 

On being asked about their relations, The four-time World champion stated,” I’ve never worked with him, I work with you know, his daughter is here, you know what I mean, so look the times I’ve seen him we’ve always gotten along okay I don’t I’ll say this I don’t think it was ever as bad as everybody made it up to be.” 

Mr. WrestleMania also went on to add, “ I know that I gave everybody a hard time back when I was younger, but you know, like when I came back, I made sure I went to everybody and at least like sorry.”

Michaels and Rock reportedly shared a less-than-ideal relationship in the past. The actor once even confronted Michaels when the latter was on a trip to Hawaii.

The two might have reconciled but there were many reports of issues between the two in the past. 

The curious case of The Rock and Triple H

Triple H is Shawn’s long-time friend and colleague. And the equation between The Rock and him was said to be shaky as well. The two superstars might have enjoyed superb chemistry in the ring but were said to have a mutual disdain for each other backstage.

The pair clashed over the Intercontinental Championship and WWE Championship during the Attitude Era. In spite of these differences, The Rock and Triple H exercised a high level of professionalism, as their matches were instant classics. Something that the fans rave about even today.

While there may have been bad blood between The Rock and Shawn Michaels in the past. The two seemed to have worked out their differences and HBK’s recent comments have put these rumors to bed. The fact that The Rock’s daughter, Ava Raine, is working in NXT under Michael’s tutelage also supports these claims. Fans would be appreciative of Michael’s honesty and both superstars’ maturity in working out their differences.
