The TIME magazine announced their latest inductions into the 2023 Women of the Year. Amongst various influential women on the list, USWNT soccer star Megan Rapinoe made her way into the list. She is one of the best soccer players in the world after leading the USWNT to various vital trophies. Thus, apart from her contributions to the pitch, she became the voice piece for the voiceless outside the soccer pitch.

Significantly, her work for the USWNT in gathering equal pay was eye-opening and helped to fight gender discrimination in her country. Thus, she entered the TIME list for the second time after entering the magazine’s most influential people in 2020. Fans reacted to this special achievement.

These women have paved the way for many women to step up and be a voice for many people who can’t speak. They carried their success in their respective fields to channel into something memorable. According to NPR, she commented, “Men are so often paid and compensated on the potential that they show, not necessarily what they’ve done. And women are so often paid on what they’ve actually done — which normally I would say, we outperform what our contract was.”
