Last night’s NBA game between the Atlanta Hawks and Dallas Mavericks was a pure nail-biter. The basketball world witnessed a neck-to-neck battle as the Georgian side suffered a 143-148 defeat against the Texas-based team. But the spotlight is on Mavericks star Luka Doncic, who stole the show with a remarkable 73-point game. His last night’s performance even left an indelible mark on soccer veteran Neymar, who has a succinct message for the NBA star. 

Neymar’s love for basketball is no secret, with the player often making NBA appearances. With the Al Hilal star currently sidelined due to his injury, he managed to catch the action from his home. Following the match, Luka Doncic shared a picture of himself on social media where he was holding a paper that had written 73 on it. The Slovenian basketball pro also penned a caption that read, “Special night. Special team.” Soon after, Neymar reshared the post on an Instagram story and wrote “Legend” while adding four clapping emojis as well. Luka Magic also acknowledged the praise as he re-shared the soccer star’s story. Notably, Neymar wasn’t alone; other soccer stars were also mesmerized.

AS Roma forward Paulo Dybala commented with a few clapping emojis on the post, with Liverpool center-back Virgil van Dijk and PSG star Marco Asensio commenting with two fire emojis. Likewise, many Real Madrid stars also joined the bandwagon, including Jude Bellingham, Toni Kroos, Kepa, and Vinicius Jr., who expressed their reactions with several emojis. Lucas Vasquez wrote “Talent” and injured keeper Thibaut Courtois reacted, “Wow,” with mind-blown and magician hat emojis.

Furthermore, even Doncic reciprocated his gratitude to all the Real Madrid players who wished him with a unique gesture.

Despite Neymar’s special message, Luka Doncic pledged his alliance with the Brazilian winger’s former club’s arch-rival, Real Madrid. Just hours after his enthralling performance, the Mavericks star came back home to watch Madrid’s La Liga match against Las Palmas. He even shared a story for the same with the caption, “Vamooooos!!! Hala Madrid.”

Nevertheless, Doncic channeling his inner Madridista must have brought a smile to the faces of the players and fans of Los Blancos.
