Cristiano Ronaldo is a heritage of soccer. Aside from filling his trophy cabinet, the player has some historic milestones to his name. The veteran has conquered greatness in Europe’s apex leagues, including the Premier League, La Liga, and Serie A. Among his records, his spell with Premier League side Manchester United was especially remarkable.

The player still has a few unbreakable records to his name. However, records are meant to be broken, as now a new name has arrived in England. Erling Haaland has taken the soccer world by storm. His record-breaking performances have earned him comparisons with some of the game’s greatest strikers. Cristiano Ronaldo’s iconic 31-goal Premier League season for Manchester United in 2008/09 will always be remembered as one of the greatest individual achievements in the history of English football. However, the emergence of Erling Haaland has sidelined that record as he is on track to become one of the best strikers ever.

So far, the 21-year-old has scored 35 goals for Manchester City and is expected to score even more. Anyhow, Haaland isn’t the first one to break CR7’s record, as Liverpool star Mohamed Salah already broke one. The Egyptian striker scored 32 goals during the 2017-2018 season.

At present, Haaland is on a mission to set a completely different milestone in the English Premier League. Notably, the lethal forward has also scored the most hat tricks this season. It won’t take him too long to break other records set by the Portuguese in soccer. With his relentless drive, Haaland looks set to become a dominant force in England for many years to come. The striker is even keen to lead his domestic side to glory, as he is eyeing substantial success with the Cityzens.

Eyeing significant glory with Manchester City

While Ronaldo braces himself to see his records broken, Haaland is eyeing winning a treble with Manchester City. City is currently sitting at the top of the Premier League table, with 82 points. Pep Guardiola has overtaken his former disciple Mikel Arteta’s side, Arsenal, and is a point above them.

Talking about Europe, the Sky Blues are in the semi-finals of the Champions League. They recently played to a draw against La Liga giants Real Madrid in the first leg. However, they’ll be looking to end the second leg in their favor and get their ticket to the finals.

Besides this, they’re also in the finals of the FA Cup, where they’ll play their neighbors, Manchester United. Having already won the Carabao Cup, it seems they are eager to win all the remaining trophies. In fact, Haaland’s presence is cynical for Guardiola, as he is eager to steer the club to glory.
