Inter Miami, owned by David Beckham, received the Argentinian star with much excitement and cheering. The American audience experienced his much-anticipated heroics in the League’s Cup. But his alchemy did not stretch till the MLS.

People around the world started watching MLS more than ever before. Similar to his counterpart Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi brought along his ocean of fandom to the League, which has been game-changing. Even though he won’t be playing in this season any longer, the 36-year-old still pushing the people via social media to watch playoffs.

Messi has 490 million fans, posted on Instagram, writing, “There’s only one place to watch every playoff match: #MLSSeasonPass on Apple TV.”

Messi is already Apple’s partner for its exclusive MLS broadcasting on Apple TV, which will telecast the playoffs. Messi’s influence earlier was very satisfying for the World’s leading tech company as sales doubled up pretty quickly. The Inter Miami captain has been hard campaigning for Apple TV, with even his show Messi Meets America being streamed.

Messi also posted a promotional story on Instagram last month with a huge discount offer for the season pass. The overall numbers to see Messi play on Apple TV have been crazy. The League’s Cup attracted around 13.6 million viewers on the whole. However, one thing to be noted is neither Inter Miami nor its striker will take part in the playoffs anymore.

Inter Miami’s humiliating exit

Unfortunately for Inter Miami, Messi could not play in the last stages of the league. This left them to win just one match after the Leagues Cup triumph, leaving them out of the playoffs. The team was already lingering at the bottom before Messi’s arrival and their unsuccessful closure was the final nail in the coffin.

The World Cup winner rejected an offer of more than $1 billion from Saudi club Al Hilal. He came with a vision to take Inter Miami to this season’s playoffs. But, the 7-time Ballon d’Or winner could not play most of their matches after his scar tissue injury resurfaced.
