It was tough for both sides to take the cup home as the match went to penalties after an emphatic 3-3 draw. However, it was LAFC who won the penalties decisively, thus taking the MLS Cup home.

After three months, it’s time for last year’s winners to celebrate their historic win before kicking off their new season against Portland Timbers. During the pregame ceremony, fans unveiled huge banners to honor their two Supporters’ Shield victories as well as their MLS Cup and 2022 Western Conference wins. Despite the winning atmosphere in the stadium, one prominent personality didn’t get to be a part of the festivities.

Soccer world snaps over Will Ferrell’s treatment

It was quite a cup-winning celebration for LAFC. All the players, including the final hero, Gareth Bale, also took part in the celebrations at the BMO pitch. The former Madrid man later tweeted a picture of himself wearing the ring, with LAFC’s part owner and famous actor, Will Ferrell.

And somehow, that has caught the eyes of many soccer fans around the world. In the photo, we can see that co-owner Will Ferrell is not wearing a ring. Furthermore, he wasn’t even at the BMO pitch as he watched from the stands.
