Time is ticking away for Kylian Mbappe at Paris Saint-Germain. The Frenchman is now in the final six months of his contract and is free to pack his bags away from Parc des Princes. While the whole town is gossiping about his move to Real Madrid, an FC Barcelona legend has alerted Mbappe that sharing a locker room with Jude Bellingham can be ‘very difficult‘.

France legend Emmanuel Petit dipped his toe in the commotion, suggesting that Kylian Mbappe should consider a move to the Premier League instead. Petit insists that the situation in Madrid is now different and they are rather feeling ‘betrayed‘, who were earlier ‘ready to deliver the red carpet’ for the winger. “On top of this, you have got Bellingham. He is the star of Madrid right now. Do you think you can have mini-stars who can shine at Madrid? Do you know how it works, this club? It is very difficult, there are a lot of big egos,” he said while speaking to talkSPORT. 

Petit believes Kylian Mbappe will be yet another player in the history of Madrid. “If he goes over there, he will have to prove that he is Mbappe, one of the best players in the world. It won’t be easy because he is not welcome the same way he was welcome 16 months ago.” The 1998 World Cup winner questions why the 24-year-old wants to go now if he had a chance earlier. Likewise, he believes that staying at PSG and guiding them to Champions League glory or a move to England can be in his best interest.

Notably, Liverpool has reportedly joined the race to sign Kylian Mbappe. Yet, it is still unclear where the 2018 World Cup winner will play. But if he chooses Los Blanos, then he might eat up Bellingham’s wages, further claimed Petit.

Another major implication of why Kylian Mbappe should drop the Madrid dream

Emmanuel Petit further asserted how Kylian Mbappe will bring more financial discrepancies for both Real Madrid and Jude Bellingham. “They would have to change the wages for him [Bellingham]. He [Mbappe] is free. That means that he will receive a lot of money. Do you know how it works in the dressing room? The big players want to be the best earners.”

Petit believes that Bellingham might question Madrid over giving a bigger paycheck to Kylian Mbappe and believes that it ‘could be the start of throwing him to the dressing room.’ Indeed, this is quite a huge declaration from the former Barcelona icon, which adds a twist to Mbappe’s transfer narrative. Only time will tell what happens from this stage.
