The 36-year-old happily shared the picture, which somehow went viral on another level. Messi has now presented the exact backstory behind the iconic picture. In a lengthy interview with ESPN Argentina, he revealed, “I didn’t sleep with the Cup, it was just the photo (laughs). We waited a long time after the final at the hotel. We left late, and we had it in the room. We took a couple of photos and uploaded them to social networks.”
