Jude Bellingham and Erling Haaland Were on Juventus’ Radar Claims Chief Scout – “We Were Very Close”

In recent times, Jude Bellingham and Erling Haaland have become household names in soccer. Both of these generational talents have managed to captivate the soccer world with their remarkable soccer prowess. While today, the two continue to excel at their respective domestic sides, a shocking claim from a former chief scout reveals both of these youngsters had a chance to play together as teammates at Juventus.

Notably, both Haaland and Bellingham recently took center stage at the 2023 Ballon d’Or Awards. The Manchester City striker lifted the prestigious Gerd Muller Award, while Real Madrid’s new signing clinched the Kopa Trophy.

Jude Bellingham and Erling Haaland are undoubtedly the new faces of the beautiful game. Both, who were once the stars of Borussia Dortmund, are now living their best days at their respective sides, Real Madrid and Manchester City. While their journey as teammates sadly came to an end, it came very close to reigniting at another European club.

In an interesting revelation, the two have reportedly had a chance to become teammates at Juventus. This comes from the mouth of the Italian club’s former chief scout, Matteo Tognozzi. While speaking to TuttoSport, he said, “We came very close to signing Erling Haaland. In November 2017, that was one of the first contacts I made. The idea was to play him in the Primevera but the transfer was considered too expensive.”

Additionally, Tognozzi then revealed the Old Lady was close to bringing Bellingham to Turin in 2019. That time, the midfielder didn’t make his breakthrough move to Dortmund as he was playing for Championship side, Birmingham City. “We had spoken with his family but he had decided to continue his development at Birmingham City,” Togonozzi added.

Indeed, this is quite a huge revelation from the current sporting director of La Liga side Granada. While Haaland and Bellingham may have missed their reunion in Italy, it may transpire in Spain.

Jude Bellingham has already had a terrific start at Real Madrid by notching a lot of goals. Interestingly, the La Liga side is keen to bolster their ranks even more, and as per reports, they eye Erling Haaland as an alternative. Additionally, the void left by their former icon, Karim Benzema, is yet to be filled.

Hence, they see Haaland as another alternative. However, the Spanish capital is heavily linked with their dream signing, Kylian Mbappe. Certainly, it would be interesting to see what decision Los Blancos makes.
