Kylian Mbappe Congratulates ‘Brother’ Ousmane Dembele for Ending His PSG Goal Draught Against AS Monaco

Just hours ago, PSG played their enthralling Ligue 1 fixture against Monaco. By surprise, the Parisians battered the away side with a 5-2 score line. In the middle of the celebrations, Kylian Mbappe took the time to shine the spotlight on his teammate Ousmane Dembele as he congratulated him for finally putting a full stop to his goal drought.

The win keeps the French giants at the top of the league and fills them with confidence, as next week they will play their Champions League clash against Newcastle United.

PSG outshined Monaco in the classic fixture as they clinched a remarkable victory at Parc des Princes. The cherry on top was Ousmane Dembele opening his account for PSG by scoring a sublime finish from a tight angle in the 70th minute. Interestingly, after the match, Mbappe decided to congratulate his teammate for scoring his first goal.

The 24-year-old took to Instagram and shared a post about Dembele on his story. Aside from this, he wrote a caption saying, “Félicitations mon frère. Premier d’une longue série on espère.” Which translates to, “Congratulations, brother. Hopefully the first of many”, as per DeepL. Indeed, it is quite a heartwarming message from Mbappe to his fellow national teammate.

Additionally, the Frenchman also managed to get his name on the scoresheet after winning a penalty from the challenge on Dembele. The skipper brilliantly converted from the spot to give his side a lead after Takumi Minamino equalized.

Meanwhile, Goncalo Ramos scored the opener for the Parisians, with Vitinha adding a brilliant stunner. Notably, Monaco added another with the help of Folarin Balogun, but a late goal from Randal Kolo Muani spoiled their comeback hopes.

Remarkably, prior to the game, Mbappe received a special commendation for his major achievement from his club’s icon.

Kylian Mbappe honored by PSG legend

Before the game, Kylian Mbappe received a unique tribute from PSG legend Pauleta. The Portuguese icon handed over a special jersey that had a new emblem, “S1,” with ‘S’ denoting soccer and one signifying the player’s status as the leading goal scorer in Ligue 1. This initiative was earlier announced by LFP
