Finally, after a year, Cristiano Ronaldo won his first trophy with Al Nassr. The Portuguese star rose to the occasion and led Al Nassr to their first-ever Arab Club Champions Cup title, scoring twice in a 2-1 win against Al Hilal in the final. Besides his first Saudi League title, the 5x Ballon d’Or winner finished as the top-scorer and scored six times in the tournament. However, the Portuguese legend still finds himself attached to one iconic name.

For a lot of fans, Ronaldo’s biggest achievement is competing at the highest level with a man many consider to be the greatest person to ever kick a football, Lionel Messi. Messi’s love affair with Miami also seems to be blooming. After lifting the World Cup, La Pulga seemingly put the GOAT debate to rest and claimed his spot at the top of football royalty. Unfortuntely for CR7, his plaudits always remain marred by the accomplisments of his contemprory.

With decades gone by, the most controversial topic in soccer history still remains the same. Who’s the better player: Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo? This is a debate that will never have a favorable answer. However, the two soccer legends continue to make waves in their respective soccer leagues.

Despite winning his first title with Al Nassr, Ronaldo was unhappy about not receiving the Best Player Award, although he did win the Golden Boot with six goals. Interestingly, Al Hilal’s $54,000,000-rated Sergej Milinkovic-Savic surpassed the Al Nassr talisman and received the award.

Unfortunately, it seems like fans might have to wait a little longer to witness Leo’s first action in the MLS. A few days back, Inter Miami confirmed that Messi’s MLS debut has been delayed due to the Herons’ progression in the Leagues Cup.
