“You’re Too Fast Ibrahimovic” – Lucas Vasquez & Co. Laud Brahim Diaz for Outrunning Jan Oblak & Scoring From 40-Yards Away vs. Atletico Madrid at Spanish Super Cup Semi Finals

Last night’s Madrid Derby was no less than a movie. In another exciting contest, Real Madrid took the crown of comeback kings, defeating Atletico Madrid 5-3 in the Supercopa de Espana. Amidst the collective brilliance, the spotlight has diverted towards Los Blancos star Brahim Diaz, who not only outpaced Jan Oblak to net a 40-yard stunner but, surprisingly, has been likened to Zlatan Ibrahimovic by Lucas Vasquez and his other teammates.
To celebrate the achievement of reaching the finals of the Spanish Super Cup, Brahim Diaz posted glimpses of yesterday’s match on Instagram. He also wrote a caption that translates to “Until the very end…! LETS GO ROYAL!” Interestingly, Diaz’s comments section was filled with a lot of praise for scoring the fifth goal after coming on as a substitute. Lucaz Vaquez’s comment stood out the most as he wrote, “You’re too fast Ibrahimovic [fire emoji].”
Notably, in the final moments around the 120th minute, Atletico won a corner. Keeper Jan Oblak also joined his teammates inside the penalty box. However, the ball was cleared towards Atletico’s half, with Oblak and Molina pacing to recover possession. However, Diaz ran with his full speed to get past the rival keeper and simply put the ball in the goal from 40 yards. Perhaps Vaquez was referring to a few of Ibrahimovic’s goals, which the Swedish had scored from long range during his time.

Other players also commented, with Vinicius Jr. writing, “Wowwwwww.” Meanwhile, Federico Valverde wrote, “QUE ANIMAAAALLLL.” Diaz’s former Milan teammate and ex-Madrid star, Theo Hernandez, wrote, “Ubrahim Bolt.” Either way, this is quite a huge praise for Diaz. Certainly, he’ll be looking to give the same performance in the next match. Speaking of which, a Madrid youngster has fired a warning to his potential rivals in the finals.

Optimism bodes well for the Madrid youngster, who recuperated from his injury quite early. He even came in the 112th minute to help his side make a difference. Sadly, the efforts of Mario Hermoso, Antoine Greizmann, and Real’s own goal fell short for Atletico. Goals from Antonio Rudiger, Ferland Mendy, Dani Carvajal, Joselu, and Diaz’s stunner were enough to win the match. Nevertheless, let’s see how they perform in the finals.
