Chelsea, under Todd Boehly, has spent over $1.1 billion in transfers. Having signed younger talent on long contracts, their start to the season has been far from ideal. One such youngster had been having a tough time with a 263-day goal drought. Fans were beginning to doubt his skills. However, he finally found the back of the net in Chelsea’s recent win against Fulham. Now, a former Arsenal player has come out in his support and pointed out the similarities he shares with Kylian Mbappe, Neymar and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Mykhailo Mudryk arrived with a hefty price tag at Stamford Bridge. His early days were far from smooth, with a glaring absence of goals. Former French International, William Gallas, now sees something in Mudryk that has ignited a spark of hope among the Chelsea faithful.

As reported by Gambling Zone, in an exclusive interview, Gallas likened Mudryk’s style of play to that of Cristiano Ronaldo during his early years in the Premier League. He said, “One player that was a little bit similar was Cristiano Ronaldo. When Cristiano was younger and first came to the Premier League, he showed that he had all of the technical ability and the pace. He showed incredible skill with his stepovers.” But Gallas went on to analyze things further.

He continued, “Everything he did on the pitch was fast. Mudryk has some similar movements. I think when he can put everything together, it will be very difficult to stop Mudryk. He has the same ability as Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar, and Mbappe when it comes to his ground speed and acceleration.”

The comparisons to Cristiano Ronaldo might raise eyebrows and stir debate. However, it’s essential to recognize that Mudryk is still a young talent. Cristiano Ronaldo started his Premier League journey with flair and prowess. Mudryk exhibits the same qualities. He can leave defenders scrambling. As Gallas pointed out, it’s the acceleration and ground speed where Mudryk mirrors the likes of Neymar and Mbappe.

Does Mudryk’s potential point to a star in the making?

Mudryk is still only 22 years old, so he has plenty of time to develop into a world-class player. He has all of the tools necessary to succeed at the highest level, under current Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino. In fact, veteran player William Gallas also pointed out that he has the skills to become a top player.

He said, “I think he has all of the attributes to become a top, top player. We can all see that he has the ingredients, we are just waiting to see his real quality. He makes things look really easy. The way that he can accelerate past players, he makes his opponent look slow.” If Mudryk can start to score more goals and produce more consistent performances, he will quickly become one of the most important players at Chelsea.
