Recently, Sam Querrey and John Isner had some fun on their ‘Nothing Major’ podcast, putting together a “hotties” draw featuring ATP stars like Matteo Berrettini, Ben Shelton, Casper Ruud, Tommy Paul, and 12 others. The list got fans and players talking, and now, it seems Tommy Paul has once again found himself in the spotlight—not just for his tennis but for his looks. Find out how Casper Ruud trolls him for his good looks.
Casper Ruud, currently gearing up for Indian Wells, teamed up with Maria Sakkari for some doubles action at the Eisenhower Cup, a charity mixed doubles event. However, their run was cut short in the first round by Madison Keys and Tommy Paul. The Norweigan tennis player, though, had the perfect way to make light of the loss.
“It’s tough… when you go up against the Australian Open champ & a model, you have to be on point, & we weren’t. The model got the best of us,” he joked during his on-court interview.

Tommy Paul has built quite the reputation for his looks. Back at the Paris Olympics, he turned heads by practicing shirtless, and even the official International Tennis Federation (ITF) X account couldn’t help but fangirl over him. They playfully dubbed him “Ken Paul,” a nod to the famous Ken doll. But while his charm might win fans, it didn’t win him the Eisenhower Cup. The American tennis star and Madison Keys lost in the final to Taylor Fritz and Elena Rybakina. Still, the World No.11 is ready to move on and shift focus to Indian Wells.

Tommy Paul makes steady progress ahead of the Indian Wells
Tommy Paul isn’t just a pretty face—he’s also been putting in the work on the court. He had a breakthrough 2024 season, winning three tour titles. His quarterfinal run at the Australian Open solidified his rise and saw him cracking the ATP top 10 ranking for the first time. However, the 27-year-old tennis player’s campaign ended in a tough loss to Alexander Zverev. The match was a tight battle, with Paul falling 7-6(1), 7-6(0), 2-6, 6-1. And to his luck, Zverev moved past the semi-final without playing as Novak Djokovic withdrew mid-match.
Despite the setback, he’s not dwelling on the losses. “Every tournament I go to, I want to win it,” Paul said. “I think if you’re showing up to the tournament without the idea of trying to win the tournament in your head, then why even go to the tournament? But that being said, I really feel like I show up to tournaments now and I don’t want to say, ‘think I should,’ but I go there and look at it more as a mission. Like, ‘All right, let’s get through the first couple rounds trying to save the body and then put your body on the line late in the tournament, and try and get this title here.’ I have a lot more confidence in myself going into tournaments now.”
The American tennis star now turns his attention to Indian Wells, where he made the semifinals last year. He’ll be looking to go even further this time and add more valuable ranking points before heading to Miami. His last appearance at the Miami Open ended early when he was forced to retire in his opening-round match due to an ankle injury.
