After upsetting the world at the 2022 Mr. Olympia stage, Hadi Choopan has now received praise from global icon Joe Rogan. The longtime UFC commentator recently discussed Choopan on his podcast and gave props to his physique. A fitness fanatic himself, Rogan has discussed bodybuilding on The Joe Rogan Experience and has hosted legends like Ronnie Coleman on his show before.
Recently, he hosted the founder of Barstool Sports, Dave Portnoy on JRE. During their conversation, they discussed the use of performance-enhancing substances and freak physiques that accompany the use of steroids. The conversation veered on to bodybuilding and the current Mr. Olympia, Hadi Choopan.

Joe Rogan on Hadi Choopan
In episode #1920 of The Joe Rogan Experience, Rogan explained to Portnoy how performance-enhancing medicines allow athletes to outwork their competitors in terms of recovery and training. He then mentioned the case of bodybuilding where it is necessary to be on something because “your body’s not supposed to be that big.”

Rogan also mentioned how bodybuilders damage their bodies with grueling training and dehydration routines. Speaking of bodybuilders, he said, “These guys are f***ing preposterously huge. They’re cartoonish.”
Incidentally, he used Hadi Choopan as the latest example that proved his point. After bringing up a picture of Choopan on the screen, the Iranian bodybuilder’s title-winning physique astonished Rogan. He said, “That’s the guy. Jesus. What the f*** man? Who is that guy?…”
Commenting on Choopan’s physique, the 55-year-old said, “That’s what he wants to look like. He wants to be a bodybuilder. I mean, does he look good? Yeah, he does. As a bodybuilder. That’s why he wins. You just don’t think he looks good as a regular human.”
What Rogan said about Ronnie Coleman
While talking about the use of steroids, Rogan mentioned the bodybuilding legend, Ronnie Coleman. The BJJ black belt mentioned to Portnoy how bodybuilders are unnaturally huge. He said, “They’re so enormous like, you can’t even imagine a human being, you can’t attain those levels of physique naturally.”

Then he mentioned Coleman to explain how bodybuilders needed steroids, even if they had incredible genetics. The former ‘Fear Factor’ host said, “Ronnie Coleman did not even take steroids till he was 30. He had superior genetics. His genetics were off the chart.”
