UFC 299 is just a few hours away, and fans are eager to witness some of the best fighters in the UFC in action. The event will take place at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida. Before the event, UFC CEO Dana White sat for a conversation at the Pro Wrestling and MM show.

During the conversation, the UFC head honcho highlighted how companies like Netflix are now willing to live-stream sports. The 54-year-old also pointed out how social media is the future for gathering more audiences. So, without any further delay, let us find out what he had to say.

The entire boxing world was shocked when the fight between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson was announced. However much to the surprise of everyone Netflix decided to live stream the fight. This is the first time that a boxing match will be live streamed on an OTT  platform. While the fight has gathered a lot of attention from fans around the world. The event is scheduled to take place on 20th July at the AT&T Stadium in Texas. This sudden interest in sports from Netflix has got White’s attention and he has come up with his own point of view on the whole.

During a recent conversation the UFC head honcho said, “Yeah it’s the future. The future of marketing and the future of reaching your fan base is social media and streaming. I mean it is the future and you’re starting to see now. Netflix coming on board with sports. You see YouTube now has sports. You have Amazon now getting involved in sports. Sports is a destination that you have to watch live so all these streaming platforms are starting to realize that. I’m surprised Netflix didn’t get involved in live sports a lot sooner but it’s absolutely a future.”

The social media influencer turned boxer Jake Paul has managed to win his last few fights. However, facing Mike Tyson will be a completely different ball game altogether for the 27-year-old. Dana White seems all excited about the upcoming UFC 299 and is confident of churning in big numbers. During the interview he pointed out how the UFC is breaking records at the event.

UFC 299 is loaded with some of the best fighters in the division looking to make a mark for themselves in the promotion. The event has gathered a lot of attention and the fans are waiting desperately to witness the gladiators in action. One of the biggest names in the UFC currently is Sean O’ Malley who will defend his title against Marlon ‘ Chito’ Vera. Apart from ‘Suga’ the likes of Dustin Poirier and Michael ‘Venom’ Page are also included in the fight card which makes it very interesting.

Dana White not only seemed excited about the battles but also look confident of setting new records. During the conversation he said, “Last gate was 12 million and we’re creeping up on 14 million for this one. So we broke our own record. We broke the arena record again and the economic impact for Miami last time we came was $47.7 million. So we plan on beating that this year too.” As fans eagerly wait to witness the event, it will be interesting to see whether the promotion lives up to its prediction.
