Thanks to his affiliation with Conor McGregor and online trolling, the 29-year-old remains a topic of conversation among fans. Recently, Danis got into a scuffle with YouTuber-turned-boxer KSI. After the incident, the announcement came that the two men would settle their differences inside the squared circle in January. Now, Danis is getting some commendation from fans for displaying his striking skills in a sparring video ahead of the grudge match.

Dillon Danis rose to popularity in the aftermath of the Conor McGregor–Khabib Nurmagomedov rivalry. At UFC 229, Nurmagomedov submitted McGregor and subsequently vaulted over the cage to attack Danis. While this brawl pushed Danis’ name into mainstream conversations, another one opened the doors to the world of YouTuber boxing.

Dillon Danis currently fights under the Bellator banner where he is 2-0. The BJJ black belt last competed in 2019, when he beat Max Humphrey. Danis, who earned his fame as Conor McGregor’s training partner, is also a highly touted BJJ black belt.

Therefore, Danis’ striking prowess was barely on display in the two wins that came via first-round submission. Hence, fans were skeptical about his ability to match KSI inside a boxing ring. However, “El Jefe” has put some of those doubts to rest with his recent sparring footage.

Danis threw a variety of shots against various training partners in the clip. He landed shots to the head and worked their bodies, too. The BJJ black belt also landed uppercuts in the clinch.
In the comments under the recent clip, fans showed some love for Danis, saying he may present some trouble for KSI on January 14.

In the comments, one fan wrote, “this gonna be a closer fight than everyone thinks.” Another fan stated their opinion saying “this is honestly the best i’ve ever seen him throw.”
One fan gave props to Danis and wrote, “Hes much better than ppl originally thought he ain’t gonna be world champion or nothing but hes much better than a ben askren.”
Similarly, another said, “He’s a few levels below Woodley but he’s leaps and bounds better than askren.”

Another fan analyzed the future bout saying, “idk man on one hand hes been an mma fighrt for years but relies on bjj, on the other hand ksi isnt really that good.”
One more fan gave Danis a chance in the bout and wrote, “He’s actually decent don’t know why people are saying he’s gonna get absolutely destroyed.”
Another said, “He’s going to surprise all the “easy fight” people.”
