“You Can Get Dana White To…”: After Tyson Fury’s Ugly Feud With Jon Jones, Boxer Gets a Reality Check From UFC Legend

Tyson Fury and Jon Jones turned a lot of heads with their recent social media back and forth. This unexpected beef came about, thanks to Joe Rogan. The UFC commentator said Jones would beat Fury if the pair were just locked up in a room. This did not sit well with Fury, who retorted with strong words. Unsurprisingly, Jones made his own comments to Fury later, escalating the situation even further. ‘The Gypsy King’ and Jones eventually agreed that one would not best the other in their respective sport.
Meanwhile, an ex-UFC legend was thoroughly let down by the Fury went about handling the situation. According to him, the boxing heavyweight champion should have said the bare minimum and left it at that.
Retired UFC star Chael Sonnen recently gave his thoughts on the verbal battle between Jones and Fury. The 46-year-old stated that Fury’s statement was not befitting in his image. In typical Sonnen fashion, he described his thoughts in a recent YouTube video.

Chael Sonnen expected more from Tyson Fury
According to Chael Sonnen, Tyson Fury only needed to say one thing to Jon Jones. For ‘The Gangster’, that is the only thing that would have mattered. By saying more than required, Fury has damaged his own reputation in the eyes of Sonnen.
Sonnen said, “I will beat your a**. That’s the statement you’ll get from Chael Sonnen directly to you, whoever you might be. But I will stop it right there. There will not be a follow-up. I will not say as long as you weigh less than 300 pounds. I will not say as long as you are over 25 years of age… I will beat your a**.”

He continued, “But that comes from the true tough guy. I thought Tyson [Fury] was. Tyson [Fury] throws into Jon Jones, ‘I will beat you. In boxing. As long as there’s plenty of money and you can get Dana White to like…’ It doesn’t really matter what comes after that.”
He finally added, “You’re either a tough guy or you aren’t. A tough guy will make a statement like the one presented by yours truly. In any direction you want and in any way you want to apply it, I will beat your a**. I thought Tyson [Fury] had this.”
