“It Means to Be Independent”: Jake Paul Praises Francis Ngannou for Escaping the UFC “Monopoly” Amid Recent Dana White Controversy

Jake Paul has made a reputation for himself in the fight game. The YouTuber-turned-boxer is constantly seen advocating for fighter pay-related issues for combat sports athletes, especially in the UFC. This has earned him polarizing responses from the community. However, ‘The Problem Child’ does not shy away from his mission of speaking on behalf of the combat sports members. This time he has commended former UFC champ Francis Ngannou for his shift to his PFL.

Having joined PFL some months back, the controversial boxer has welcomed new addition Francis Ngannou with open arms amid Dana White‘s controversy. Similarly, Nate Diaz’s teammate also had an interesting take on the financial aspect of Francis Ngannou’s move into the PFL. Jake Paul had some good words for the former UFC champ while speaking to Logan Paul in a podcast that resonated with Nate Diaz‘s friend’s take on the issue.

Paul’s latest statement is an endorsement of Francis Ngannou’s bold move to break free from the UFC. He emphasized the significance of Ngannou’s departure from the UFC. He added that it signifies a new era for combat sports.

Paul said, “He’s changing the fight game forever and he showing other fighters what it means to be independent and make a boatload of money and escape the monopoly that is the UFC.” Ever since Ngannou left the UFC, he has come under heavy scrutiny from Dana White.

The YouTuber-turned-boxer believes that Ngannou can serve as an inspiration for other athletes who seek financial stability outside the UFC.

Jake Shields also congratulated Francis Ngannou in a similar fashion

44-year-old Jake Shields had an interesting financial take on Ngannou joining the PFL. The controversial MMA veteran said, “Congrats to @francis_ngannou for signing to the PFL It’s also nice seeing fighters make more money outside the UFC.”

Additionally, responding to a fan’s query, Shields added, “Nate Diaz also left on his own so we will see but I suspect they will. I made way more outside the UFC which is why I went there late in my career.”
