After July Ultimatum, Rafael dos Anjos Joins Joe Rogan & Other UFC Stars in Accusing Conor McGregor of Exploiting USADA Loophole

The feud between Conor McGregor and Rafael dos Anjos has been going on for quite a while. The fighters were expected to share the Octagon in UFC 196 main event. Unfortunately, RDA had to withdraw from the fight due to an injury. Since missing out on the potential fight, RDA has been looking to get back into the UFC Octagon with the ‘Mystic Mac’.

Recently, RDA appeared in an interview in The MMA Hour- with Ariel Helwani. Helwani asked the former lightweight champion about his opinion on McGregor being ‘jacked’ to which the Brazilian had an interesting viewpoint.

The former lightweight champion began the interview in a good mood, being in spectacular form in the Octagon. Recently, he defeated welterweight Bryan Barberena via submission in round 2. This is the first time RDA is fighting at welterweight since defeating Michael Chiesa in March 2020.

Rafael dos Anjos shares his thoughts on McGregor allegedly taking steroids

In ‘The MMA Hour’, dos Anjos was asked about his thoughts on Conor McGregor taking steroids. The Brazilian said, “Why will he pull himself from the USADA pool? He looked jacked. He looked big. If he wouldn’t (take PEDs) then why would he remove himself from the USADA (pool)?  That’s weird.” 

Furthermore, dos Anjos added, “That’s the guy that everything that he’s for, I am against…. To put it this way, we are in high school, that’s the guy I wanna fight in high school, that’s for sure. I don’t like him. I want this fight.”

Rafael dos Anjos thinks McGregor’s reasons are B*llsh*t.

The former lightweight champion was critical of McGregor‘s stance of “doing what’s necessary” in a bid to recover from his horrific leg injury. McGregor was citing his reasons to remove himself from the USADA pool.

The reasoning did not go well with dos Anjos as he labeled the reasons be “b*llsh*t“. dos Anjos was of the opinion that McGregor’s injury is not worse than an ACL injury that an athlete suffers. He pointed out that it would take more time to recover from an ACL injury than which McGregor suffered. The Brazilian fighter has joined a list of personalities that have criticized the Irishman for taking advantage of the loophole.

Later on during the interview, dos Anjos revealed that he has the sense that the fight should have happened seven years ago. The Brazilian also cited his longevity in the fight game and insisted that he deserves to get into a fight with the ‘Mystic Mac’.
