In the recent episode of ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’, the podcaster discussed his feelings about the weigh-ins. He even called the procedure a method of cheating.
Joe Rogan thinks of weigh-in as sanctioned cheating
In episode #1900 of ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’, the actor, author, and stunt performer, Steve-O asked for Joe Rogan’s opinion about the weigh-ins. The two talked about the recent Israel Adesanya versus Alex Pereira match. Then they stumbled upon the fact that Pereira’s weight was different when he showed up at the Octagon than the actual weigh-ins. Although Rogan could not deny the rumor, he stood alongside Steve-O when the talks turned to transparency in the weights of the fighters.
The fellow podcaster asked what if the fighters were standing on top of a scale while they were applying Vaseline and getting checked by the referee? That would probably provide transparency in the weights of the fighters when they actually stepped inside the Octagon. The officials could even compare the numbers to the moment of the previous weigh-ins.
Although the 55-year-old podcaster said that it happens for some boxing matches, he wished for the same to be true for UFC bouts, as well. Nonetheless, the fan-favorite UFC commentator believed it was sanctioned cheating. He said, “I mean, it’s a bulls**t thing. It’s basically sanctioned cheating. It really is, but everybody does it.” However, the commentator believed ‘Stylebender’ stayed far away from such acts.

The podcaster takes the support of the Stylebender
Surprisingly, the podcaster claimed that the former UFC lightweight champion, Israel Adesanya, doesn’t cheat like that. He claimed, “But Izzy barely does it.” Furthermore, he justified his statement using the facts from the Stylebender’s fight against Jan Blachowicz.

Rogan said, “When Izzy went up to fight Jan Blachowicz to light heavyweight, he weighed in at 194. Which is crazy. Because Blachowicz is a giant light heavyweight. I mean, Blachowicz is a big, powerful guy at light heavyweight and Izzy didn’t gain any weight.”
