Abigail Shrier discussed the changing behavior of today’s generation, noting a concerning trend of highly intelligent but anxious individuals who are hesitant to take risks or pursue challenges. She stated, “They are so different, and I said tell me why, she said, I’m seeing the smartest, most prepared kids and they’re afraid to run their own experiments, they tell me they’re getting ready, they’re working on their skills, they’re not up to it…”

She shared insights gained from a research scientist friend who observed that even top students are increasingly apprehensive and frequently report mental health concerns, highlighting their struggles with self-belief and doubt.

As such, Rogan added his perspective as a father by stating, “It’s weird because as a parent, like you want to hear kids out and when they’re having like some sort of anxiety and issue, you want to talk with them and you want to talk through it…”

He stated, “And along with those tools, to explain to them that there’s things that they’re going to have to do in this life that are very difficult. But that there’s a great reward in doing these very difficult things.”

Despite the uncertainties surrounding parenting in an era marked by heightened anxiety, Rogan remains committed to guiding his children toward resilience and self-assurance, recognizing the inherent rewards of overcoming adversity.

He emphasized, “I think becoming famous in front of the world is an insane amount of pressure becoming a child. And as you’re growing up, you’re in front of the world that’s not manageable when you’re… no one’s designed like that.”
