Conor McGregor Opens Up on Very ‘Tough’ and ‘Unsure’ Times Nursing His Devastating Injury

The return of Conor McGregor to the octagon is nothing short of a moment of pure bliss for UFC fans. After suffering a devastating injury that left many wondering if he would ever return. But ‘The Notorious’ has proven all the doubters wrong. Even during his hiatus, McGregor didn’t stay far from the headlines, and even found himself at the center of controversies, especially for his alleged PED use. But with all that is done and dusted, ‘Mystic Mac’ is back. Currently, he’s coaching a pack of UFC hopefuls for the 31st season of The Ultimate Fighter against Michael Chandler, whom he will fight later this year.

Recently, McGregor sat down for an interview and covered a range of topics, including the inevitable question about his injury and recovery. The 34-year-old superstar opened up about the challenges he faced during his recovery journey, from the moment his leg broke to now.

In a recent interview with Robbie Fox from My Mom’s Basement, Conor McGregor discussed a range of topics that have been making waves in the MMA community. From his involvement in TUF 31, which has been generating a lot of buzz lately, to his upcoming fight with Michael Chandler and his Hollywood debut, McGregor had a lot to say. But what really stood out was when McGregor opened up about the challenges he faced during his recovery from the severe leg injury. Speaking about his recovery, McGregor stated, “Very tough. Very tough times, you know.”

He continued, “Very tough times, very unsure times and you only got to look at Chris Weidman, who recently returned to competition, for his Jiu-Jitsu competition, very happy for Chris, very happy to see that. Because it’s a tough one.”

Despite the difficulties, McGregor expressed gratitude for how things have turned out. “There’s no two-way about it. I’m blessed that I had the correct, you know, care and attention to it, medically. At the best doctors, best surgeons. Thank you to UFC, thank you Dr. Neal ElAttrache, to all the team who walked on me,” said the 34-year-old Dubliner. Moreover, taking McGregor’s word into account, he has not only recovered, but he is already lethal with his legs when it comes to fighting now.

Beware of Conor McGregor’s kicks

Now that Conor McGregor is preparing to make his return to the octagon, there’s a lot of speculation about whether he will be as strong as before, given the severity of his injury. However, the Irishman himself has spoken up about where his foot stands in terms of efficiency, and he seems confident in his ability to perform at the highest level once again.

In the same interview, the Irishman revealed, “I got it [my leg] back, thank God. And I am back better than ever. So, I’m excited.”

Despite the odds stacked against him, he has been able to bounce back from his injury and is now ready to take on his opponents with renewed vigor. As of now, he is busy coaching for TUF 31 which will air on the 30th of May. And then he will take on Michael Chandler in the octagon after its conclusion. The UFC fans better buckle up, because ‘The Notorious’ is coming back with a bang.
