Conor McGregor occupies a persona that transcends beyond the UFC. The former UFC champion has a reputation for a brash attitude. Remarkably, the retired MMA fighter, Brendan Schaub, declared the Irishman as the only fighter who could rage a battle against the UFC lynchpin, Dana White. And further cautioned the other fighters against it.

In the latest segment of his podcast, ‘The Schaub Show’, the podcaster discussed the upcoming UFC 281 event. Also, ‘The Sting’ addressed Paulo Costa’s recent call out to fight the Youtuber-turned-prizefighter, Jake Paul. Talking on the same issue, the retired MMA fighter also mentioned how challenging Dana White might not work for the fighters.

What did Schaub say about Conor McGregor?

MMA fighter-turned-comedian started the conversation by addressing Jake Paul‘s recent victory over the UFC legend, Anderson Silva. While talking about the outcome, the stand-up comic also addressed the Brazilian fighter’s call-out.

The Aurora-born warned that Costa’s merchandise sales and his social media reach could be affected. Then Schaub observed that no fighter in fighting history had even won that battle. However, he referred to Conor McGregor’s theatrics as a breakaway from this group.

‘Big Brown’ said, “Connor talked some sh*t to Dana. But remember, that’s Connor on a yacht and Gucci pajamas with 400 million dollars in the bank. Because he played, I’m sure he has some issues with the UFC you never heard about it, until after he was on that yacht, on a boat many, many miles away.”

Later on, he mentioned that the Dublin-born fighter put out Dana White‘s DMs to him. Also, Schaub declared McGregor as “an outlet“.

Lastly, he concluded, “For the rest of you, it ain’t gonna work man.”

Schaub on Paulo Costa’s statement

The comedian pointed out Paulo Costa‘s recent call out as ‘not good’ and further cautioned him of the repercussions. Thus, he said, “They’re gonna get you, man. Nobody’s ever won, nobody’s ever won. They’ll suppress all your sh*t, all your sh*t. Everything”

Following this, Schaub also referred to Dan Hardy’s incident.

Not only did the podcast host mention that there was no upside to this, but also he advised Costa to be strategic. The 39-year-old then advised ‘Borrachinha’ to wait till his last fight promotion to get the marketing benefits. However, being on the other side of the fence might result in a terrible match and resultant financial and marketing repercussions.

Brendan also imagined a hypothetical situation where the Brazilian fighter is knocked out in the worst possible matchup. Not only did this would result in limited bargaining power, but also diminished popularity.
