Conor McGregor recently took the internet by storm after he uploaded pictures of him and his family celebrating Halloween. The ‘Notorious’ was dressed as a pilot. Meanwhile, his fiancé, Dee Devlin, had put on a costume of a cabin crew.

Not only the pair, but the entire family had put on a costume in order to celebrate the day. The Irishman’s sister, Erin McGregor, took to her social media to upload pictures of the entire family. Although the UFC fighter’s costume garnered a lot of attention, however, it was his mother’s costume that made the most significant buzz, but negatively.

Conor McGregor’s mother faced backlash for her Halloween costume

Margaret McGregor had put on a spooky red costume while also wearing a necklace made out of fake human skulls. However, what became the talking point was her face. She had seemingly painted her face black to make herself look more demonic. Nevertheless, this didn’t sit well with the public who saw the post and called her racist for doing so.

However, in response to all the accusations, she came out and strictly denied wearing blackface while celebrating Halloween. Moreover, she also clarified what it was that she was wearing on her face that appeared to be black paint.

The UFC megastar’s representative stated that McGregor’s mother had painted spiders on her face since her costume represented a ghoul risen from the grave.

He followed up with a statement and said, “The McGregor family loves Halloween. Mrs. McGregor had spiders painted on her face since her costume was a ghoul risen from the grave. Any other interpretation was just wrong and truly unfortunate.”

How Did Conor McGregor celebrate Halloween?

The former double champ, on the other hand, was inspired by Frank Abagnale, the main character of the famous movie ‘Catch me if you can’. His partner, Dee Devlin, was dressed as a cabin crew.

He took to his Instagram to share pictures with his fans, where he also mentioned that he was celebrating the day in his pub, Black Forge, in Dublin.
