This co-main event was eagerly anticipated by UFC fans ever since it was announced, but once it was finished, it invoked a lot of backlash due to its contentious outcome. Not just fans, but a number of prominent UFC figures have condemned the outcome of the Pimblett vs. Gordon fight. And one of them is the UFC 282 winner, Ilia Topuria. A clip from him backstage has surfaced on the internet which shows that Topuria wasn’t very happy with the decision of his adversary, ‘The Baddy’ winning against Gordon. And the clip elicited reactions from the fans, who shared the same emotion as the ‘El Matador’.

Despite being a fan favorite, Paddy Pimblett has lost the support of the UFC due to the unsettling outcome of UFC 282.

Ilia Topuria disappointed with the Paddy Pimblett decision

Ilia Topuria‘s backstage response to Paddy Pimblett defeating Jared Gordon was captured in a footage from the event that was shared on Twitter. And as the video demonstrates, Topuria was visibly displeased over the co-main event’s outcome.

“Topuria wasn’t a fan of the Paddy decision.” the caption for the clip read. And the description couldn’t have been more accurate. In response to the clip, a number of fans expressed similar emotions, too.

This outcome certainly invited a lot of controversy. Despite having a victorious evening himself, the Pimblett decision left him disheartened. Ilia Topuria showcased an excellent performance of his fighting prowess in his battle with Bryce Mitchell. The 25-year-old dispatched Mitchell with an arm triangle choke and sustained his ‘undefeated’ title successfully.

However, the things are already tense between Paddy Pimblett and Ilea Topuria following their brawl a couple of days back. It seems we have a new arch rivalry in the UFC now.

Pimblett claims Topuria is obsessed with him

Ilea Topuria recently engaged in a brawl with Paddy Pimblett at a hotel a few months ago. And since, the two have exchanged quite a few insults with each other on various occasions. When Pimblett was doing an interview prior to his fight, he took shots at Topuria, claiming that the latter was ‘obsessed’ with him.

“He’s obsessed with me, isn’t he? Like, he uses me to stay in the public eye because no one cares about his life, you know what I mean? No one cares about his existence, so he uses my fame, my publicity, and tries to feed off it.” Pimblett stated. He further added that he lives ‘rent-free’ in Topuria‘s head, “He got asked a question about his opponent Bryce [Mitchell] and then finished it off by talking about me. It shows how much I’m in his head, rent free.”

Nevertheless, as of now, the current situation favors against ‘The Baddy’ despite his victory. There is also a potential for a fresh rivalry that might one day spill over into the octagon.
