Jorge Masvidal currently holds the record of the fastest knockout in the history of UFC, a mere 5 seconds affair it was. Masvidal is undoubtedly one of the most skilled fighters in the UFC today. However, he has had his fair share of defeats on his MMA journey. It is a part and parcel of being an MMA fighter.

However, a clip from his relatively old fight with Toby Imada has surfaced online. And this is one has to be one of the most difficult defeats to digest for the BMF.

A clip that is over a decade old surfaced on the internet recently. It shows Jorge Masvidal losing to Toby Imada in one of the rarest submissions in MMA history. It was a reverse triangle choke, which is not very common to witness in MMA fights. Fans were astonished seeing this clip and had all sorts of reaction to it.

Another fan pointed out a rookie mistake: “Jorge literally leaned into the choke…😂”

“Can’t even blame him, who woulda saw that coming not me”

Without a doubt, that choke was one of the most vicious ones ever used in an MMA match. Even after more than 12 years, such a defeat is difficult for anybody to forget.

Gamebred has not won any fight since 2019

Although Jorge Masvidal is the first fighter to win the BMF belt in the UFC and has triumphed over several well-known opponents, he has lost his previous three matches. Post his last victory against Nate Diaz, Masvidal has fought Kamaru Usman twice (2020 & 2021) and Colby Covington (2022).

The Gamebred has been caught up in some off-court issues involving his brawl with Colby Covington, which has resulted in him being inactive in the Octagon. However, Masvidal has recently announced that he is back on track and is ready to step into the cage next year.
