Michael Chandler has a ferocious reputation for earning brutal knockouts. When the three-times Bellator champion made the switch to UFC last year, pundits touted him to be the future lightweight champion. However, his UFC career has been a mixed bag so far, but ‘Iron’ has developed a liking for the UFC lynchpin Dana White.

At UFC 281, Chandler will face Dustin Poirier on November 12, at Madison Square and the winner will most likely earn a title shot. In a recent interview with the Valuetainment podcast, he expressed his opinion about what separates UFC and Bellator.

What did Michael Chandler say about Dana White?

The host, Patrick Bet-David, welcomed Michael Chandler as a guest on the podcast. Bet-David asked the Missouri-born about the difference between the Bellator president Scott Coker and UFC president Dana White.

After spending a decade in Bellator, Chandler might be the most appropriate man to shed the light on both personalities.

Chandler mentioned that Dana White was on another level when it came to celebrity status. Further, he stated that the UFC lynchpin is a huge name and people listen to him when he speaks. The 36-year-old brought up that White speaks only about MMA, “cause he’s been doing it for so much longer.”

#5 lightweight fighter then drew a parallel between the two. Thus, he declared that Dana White carries a little more brashness while Scott Coker is more reserved in his nature.

He continued and further stated that Scott Coker took the growth of the Bellator seriously. But at the same time, not as much as compared to Dana White.

The 23-7 record holder concluded, “I think Dana eats, sleeps, and breathes… it’s his identity. It is his lifestyle. It is him. The UFC is Dana White, and Dana White is the UFC, and that’s a beautiful thing.”

White and the surge of UFC promotion

The 53-year-old assumed the UFC’s President role with its incorporation in 2001. White’s role proved instrumental in the promotion’s rise as the world’s best promotion that started with debt. White once revealed that all they inherited from the 2001 deal was the brand name and an old Octagon.
