Chael Sonnen, the people’s champion in a conversation about Hollywood and MMA, mentions Joe Rogan and his sensational request to fight a Hollywood action star. The UFC commentator is himself a skilled fighter, trained in various art forms. Hence, he doesn’t back down.

A 39-year-old Rogan was once supposed to fight an actor in a UFC fight. He trained for six months for it. In fact, he was quite sure he would emerge victorious. After all, he is trained in kickboxing and jiu-jitsu. Hence, former UFC fighter, Chael Sonnen, recently weighed in on this bizarre fight that was supposed to take place.

An opportunity to see two legends in the ring

In a discussion video on his YouTube channel, Chael Sonnen talked about how UFC fights have been popular. He discussed the famous podcast host and comedian, Rogan, to prove his point.

“Joe Rogan himself, who’s bigger than any… Joe Rogan’s the biggest guy in America right now,” said Sonnen.

Joe Rogan has an estimated worth of $120 million. He’s the podcast host of “The Joe Rogan Experience” with an estimated 11 million monthly listeners.

The American Gangster adds, “He wanted to fight, you guys remember that?”

“Joe would get that fight if he did it today. He was trying to fight Wesley Snipes.”

Wesley Snipes is a famous Hollywood actor, known for his action movies. He reprised the role of ‘Blade’ in the franchise of the same name. The first film was a huge box office success, but the subsequent entries failed to create the same cultural impact.

“In 2005, I mean that would’ve been a really interesting match,” Sonnen said, talking about the potential match-up between Rogan and Wesley Snipes.

Recently, combat fans have seen celebrities like KSI, Logan Paul, and Jake Paul going into the ring. But it wasn’t so common back then. So it would have been an interesting match for people to witness.

Joe Rogan wished good luck to Wesley Snipes

In an old podcast episode with Georges St-Pierre, Rogan confirmed the rumor about his fight against Snipes.

Joe said, “well, it didn’t happen, it was supposed to happen.”

Rogan talked about how the American actor was in a bad place financially and that he owed taxes. According to him, the actor had bad advisors around him who got him to commit financial mistakes. This poor advice led to him landing in a helpless situation.

Regardless, he was ready to fight. He added, “I also knew that he didn’t have any jiu-jitsu training.

Since the Spotify podcaster is trained in jiu-jitsu, he was confident he could grab Snipes and defeat him.

Rogan also was of the opinion people underestimate the value of knowing jiu-jitsu. Unfortunately, the fight never took place.
